The dark side of the bright lights

Do any RLOS members fancy crossing over to the other side of the bright lights to help us back stage on Little Shop?

You'll have lots of fun, and get to see how shows work from the other side. Cast who've done it tell us it helps them as performers to see the dark arts in action.

Please contact Bob or anyone on the committee if you'd like to help.

Hanging on the phone

Can anybody help us with some old fashioned desk phones (NOT cordless!)?

Ben and Cory have devised some brilliant business with a tangle of phones in Little Shop, but some real phones (they don't have to work!) would help a lot in rehearsal.

Footloose in Swansea

Bob and Al from the RLOS committee went to see Footloose on Saturday at the Grand Theatre in Swansea, performed by the Sir Harry Secombe Trust, which used the set we have for the Churchill.

It's a great show, with 18 musical numbers, lots of singing and dancing, and parts for all ages. It moves at a cracking pace, helped by a simple but effective set which will work well at the Churchill.

If you want to know more, get the soundtrack but DON'T watch the film, which has very little music and is completely different!

RLOS will be staging the amateur premiere at the Churchill in the week starting April 12th 2010. Watch this space!
